On May 18, 2017, Michael Whittaker was arraigned in County Court upon his indictment for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree and Menacing in the 2nd Degree, Honorable Jonathan D. Nichols presiding. The Court scheduled a trial for October 23, 2017. The New York State Police investigated this matter and arrested Michael Whittaker. Dennis McEvoy represents Michael Whittaker. Michael Whittaker is presumed to be innocent unless and until the People prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt to all twelve (12) of twelve (12) jurors.

PRESS RELEASE
Claverack, New York – On April 26, 2017, New York State Police from the Livingston barracks arrested Michael J. Whittaker, age 36, of Claverack, New York, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony, and Menacing 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.At approximately 10:20 p.m., Troopers were dispatched by Columbia County 911 for a reported domestic dispute.
The investigation revealed that Whittaker physically menaced the victim with a baseball bat. She was able to get away from the victim and contact 911 for assistance. The victim was not injured as a result of the dispute.Whittaker was arraigned before Judge Brandon in the Town of Claverack Justice Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $1,500 bond.
The defendant was scheduled to reappear in Columbia County Court on May 2, 2017.
