Bill got his very first taste of radio by starting a station at Hudson High school. After a two year stop at Herkimer County Community college, Bill landed his first job doing weekends at WTLB in Utica. It was then on to WPTR in Albany and WDOT in Burlington. In 1978 Bill came home to Hudson. For 10 years he'd work at WHUC and WRVW. Then it was off to WBPM and WGHQ in Kingston. Then, back to Catskill in 1990 as WQKZ hit the airwaves at 98.5 (Later to become The Cat). In 1993 Albany came calling again and it was off to Oldies 99.5. After a year doing traffic reports for Albany radio and TV Bill came back to Hudson and has been on Oldies 93.5 since January 2002.
I've been told there is a "for sale" sign at Davi's Delights in Hudson. Really? another place I like the food closing?. Well, they'r closed already for the winter bt I had expected them to re-open in the spring. How many more restaurants have to close? We just lost Pizza Hut, Wendy's is just a memory. The Polar bar became the THIRD drug store on the same corner in Greenport. My wife and I like take-out food two nights a week. Well, those choices just keep getting smaller.
YEAH!, Election Day is over. Overall, it was a quiet day. No results that really surprized or upset me this year. Now that it's over, let's start getting those ugly lawn signs down. I wish they required that a phone number be put on the back of them somewhere, that way we would know who to call when they're still up for Christmas.
Very important, get out and vote today. There are no national elections. No statewide elections, BUT there are 6 state propositions, including the one looking to legalize casino gambling. There are lots of local races, which will decide what your local government looks like. Polls are open till 9 tonight.
A few years back I came to the decision that I do not settle anymore. If a business does not fall in line with what I want, I will go to another business. That happened Saturday, when my cell phone company told me I could not pay my bill by check. REALLY??..They said cash, or bank card. I said SEE YA! and went across the street to the competition. It took around 24 hours for some reason, but I have a whole new cell phone now, thast I have to learn to work.
